He not only had the usual education of music, science, philosophy and gymnastics, but also studied the art of public speaking and argument. After serving in the army, some of his friends wanted him to join politics. He had another mission to reveal the truth up and down the streets of Athens. He stopped and questioned people to correct their vague and incomplete ideas.
